Hi, I’m Mel, an English teacher from the UK with 16 years’ experience in schools around the world.

Throughout my career, I have guided students through their GCSE and IGCSE English Language and Literature courses, including Shakespeare, poetry and unseen texts. I know how overwhelming these exams can feel, so my approach is to make the course content crystal clear and give students repeatable structures for any essay or exam question.

Together, we break down mark schemes, practise real exam questions and use step‑by‑step planning frameworks until your child feels more in control and less anxious. During exam and revision season, my GCSE students are my priority: I offer regular feedback on written work, more frequent sessions if needed, and practical revision strategies they can actually stick to.

All lessons are taught online, with flexible scheduling around busy school days and different time zones. Having worked in international schools in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Lisbon, I understand the demands of British and international syllabi (AQA, Edexcel, Cambridge, IB) and how they are taught in international settings.
